Melbourne's new Metro Tunnel finally opened to the public on Nov 30th- this meant it was time for the Brompton Australia team to get out and explore the new facilities on their bikes.
Naturally, they asked Social Brain to tag along and make a mini-doco.
To iron out the kinks in the system, the 5 stations on the new Metro Tunnel are only in operation from 10:30am-3:30pm until February 2026. We didn't experience any kinks. It was a very cool, air conditioned, technically polished operation.
The Stations we visited - Arden, Parkville & Anzac - were quiet and pretty empty which allowed Martin & Elliot to fold their bikes next to (and under) some of the cooler spots, and to sit and explore as they pleased. Elliot even managed to colour coordinate his G-Line with the stations' orange iron work.
Martin & Elliot also took a lunch break at Seven Seeds near the Parkville Station and had a chill in University Square (Where Elliot turned his Brompton into a BMX).
Watch out for the shots of commuters with non-folding bikes. They really did look quite jealous with their cumbersome bricks in the carriages and on the escalators - this look was not "found in the edit"😂 The Brompton hybrid commute really does sell itself, so it was a very easy narrative to work with.
